1515 COMM AVE MULTI-LEVEL ROOFTOP AMENITY TERRACES
Recover partnered with Tocci Construction and OJB Landscape Architecture on a series of three elevated outdoor amenity spaces at 1515 Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton. Designed to bring meaningful outdoor access to residents across the building, these terraces combine planting, gathering, recreation, and city views into one connected rooftop experience.
The project includes amenity decks on Levels 2, 7, and 9, each with its own character. Recover’s scope included intensive and container planting, custom aluminum planter fabrication, irrigation installation, paver and deck tile layout, outdoor kitchens, fire features, and recreational elements.
The build required careful alignment of planters, pavers, and geofoam elevations to ensure smooth circulation and cohesive design across all roof levels. Close coordination with subcontractors for stonework, synthetic turf, and hardscape integration was essential to the project’s success.
Custom-fabricated aluminum-intensive planter beds were installed over geofoam and lightweight aggregate fill to manage structural loading and create level planting surfaces. This approach ensured healthy soil depth and planting performance without adding unnecessary roof weight.
This project was a highly coordinated effort across disciplines and trades. With thoughtful planning, communication, and shared execution, 1515 Comm Ave. will become a standout example of multi-level outdoor living in an urban residential setting.
