RESIDENTIAL YOGA RETREAT
An intimate deck with integrated yoga studio accessible from the master bedroom provides a serene location for calming activities on this second-story roof garden.
Alternating planters and benches surround the perimeter of the roof, creating privacy and making space for a colorful rooftop ecosystem of native perennials and pollinator habitat. A small sedum carpet boundary delineates the deck space and outdoor yoga studio, and walkable skylights cascade light into the kitchen.
This previously unused roof space is highly visible from the home’s interiors and maximizes practical living space of the residence. The quiet yoga deck overlooks a lawn garden—a true oasis in an urban center.
