GRP, OWNER, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Mark is an accredited Green Roof Professional and licensed general contractor with a diverse background in landscaping, operational logistics, supply-chain management, and customer service. He received an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, where he became involved with Net Impact, an international organization committed to responsible business leadership. His experience with Net Impact inspired him to develop a business that would contribute to a more sustainable economy while accommodating our growing population.
Since starting Recover with Brendan in 2009, Mark has helped design, build, or maintain over 100 green roofs and walls throughout the Northeast.
GRP, OWNER, DIRECTOR OF FIELD OPERATIONS
Brendan is a certified Green Roof Professional with over 15 years of project management and design-build implementation experience in the construction industry.
His expertise is grounded in a decade of experience with the New England representative of Clivus Multrum, specializing in innovative, onsite wastewater engineering. His transition into the green roof industry allows him to combine his passion for plants with his experience in construction management and new technology implementation. At Recover, Brendan assists the design and estimating team to generate innovative and cost effective solutions to meet client needs, and guides crews to ensure quality craftsmanship in the field.

VP DESIGN & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Tony received his M.Arch from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2009, where he specialized
in sustainability and regenerative design. Upon graduation, he applied these principles while working on a variety of passive homes in Boston, including the winner of the 2011 Green Conservation/Renovation Mayor's Award.
VP OPERATIONS & FINANCE
Brynn comes to Recover with a diverse background in real estate, arts & entertainment, public relations, and personal caregiving. A go-to resource in the Somerville office, Brynn develops Recover’s in-house systems while supporting her surrounding team members in renewing the urban environment with vital plant life.
SENIOR DESIGN & PROJECT MANAGER
Robin is a classically trained cabinet maker and furniture builder with extensive construction experience. His thoughtful approach to detail and craftsmanship helps Recover achieve the highest quality in their own installations. Graduating cum laude from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Industrial Design, Robin uses the design process to inform all of his work at Recover.
GRP, DESIGN & PROJECT MANAGER
Richie found himself drawn to green roof design-build after growing up in Maine, where he spent time landscaping, woodworking, and gardening from a young age and developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Since joining the Recover team in 2013, Richie has continually pursued classes in sustainability, landscape design, roofing, and irrigation.
Annie is a Massachusetts Certified Horticulturalist and ethnobotanist who studied at the University of Kent and Kew Royal Botanic Gardens in the U.K. Her previous work in the botanical field includes botany research with the Yakama Reservation in Washington, horticultural production at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and returning to her roots in agriculture as farm manager of the Community Farm of Simsbury in Connecticut.
Pat is a skilled craftsman who brings a decade of construction and leadership experience to the Recover team. His diverse background ensures any problem can be solved– be it masonry, fine carpentry, landscape construction, or heavy machine operation. Curiosity and commitment to quality inform his work. When he's not on a job site, he can be found in the surf or on the snow.
LEED AP BD+C, DESIGNER
& INTERN PROJECT MANAGER
Jing received her master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Washington University in 2014 and her B.A. in Architectural History and B.S. in Economics from Peking University in 2010. Prior to Recover, she worked for several leading architectural and landscape design firms including Dunn+Kiley, Woods Bagot, and JWDA. Jing focuses on designing thoughtful, liveable, and sustainable spaces that help to enhance clients' well-being.
After graduating from The Landing School of Boat Building and Design in Maine, Matt worked as a boatbuilder and woodworker creating exterior and interior finishing, woodwork, and custom fiberglass boats for 15 years. At Recover, Matt oversees hardscaping, decking, and custom woodworking with an eye for detail and an easy-going spirit.
Thea studied architecture, interior design, furniture design, and woodworking at a variety of institutions including the Pratt Institute, North Bennet Street School, and MassArt. Before joining Recover, Thea built her own woodworking business, producing primarily lathe-turned homewares and commissioned furniture in her wood shop. Never hesitant to try new things, Thea brings a quiet determination to all she does.
Laura began designing urban environments in NYC, working with several architecture and landscape firms including Rader & Crews and Alspector Anderson Architects. Her background in farming and building also informs her design sensibilities: she has worked as horticulture director at Green City Growers in Somerville, built urban farms in upstate NY, and studied carpentry at Yestermorrow Design/Build School in VT. Laura received her B.A. in Environmental Design from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is working towards her MLA at Boston Architectural College.
MEDIA & MARKETING SPECIALIST
Serena comes to Recover with extensive experience as an educator and advocate for sustainable community development. She delights in shaping the physical world to reflect a more holistic relationship with place, and works to tell stories that make that connection possible. Serena received her B.A. in Global Environmental Studies from Clark University in Worcester, MA, and is continuing her education at the intersection of ecological design and community development at Yestermorrow Design/Build School.
Nate's experience working in residential construction, water park maintenance, and managing his own painting company combined with his love for the outdoors and desire to build a more sustainable world brought him to Recover. After completing a 2016-17 co-op at Recover, Nate earned his B.S. in Business Management with a focus in Project Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology and joined the Recover team.
Pete has worked in the construction trades for over a decade on a diversity of projects including commercial and residential carpentry, furniture design-build, landscaping, urban agriculture, farming, project management and public art projects. He has an eye for detail and an aptitude for sustainable problem-solving that has enriched the team at Recover for the past 5 years.
James' roots are in sustainable agriculture development, with a B.A. in Agroecology from Prescott College and experience developing farms and ecological landscapes in Arizona and Hawaii. His work on green roofs stems from a passion to create a more liveable and resilient built environment. James is also a composting consultant,
providing planning services to composters throughout the Northeast.
Brian brings a lifetime of experience to Recover and an enthusiasm for problem solving that is hard to match. Brian's commitment to building exceptional green roofs and terraces alongside his knack for keeping the crew laughing brings candor and quality to daily work in the field.
Tibby brings organizational expertise learned in flower farming and floral design work to the Recover office on a part-time basis. Most often, she can be found working floral and event design with our neighbors, Foret Design Studio, at our co-working space in Fringe Union.
Growing up in Vermont on his family's farm taught Sean the value of manual labor and getting his hands dirty. He moved to Boston for school and found Recover on a search for meaningful part-time work that is making the city be a greener place to live. He is currently a student at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts.
