EXTENSIVE

Extensive green roofs are the most commonly built system. They are comprised of 6 inches or less of engineered soil and weigh around 10 to 35 lbs / ft² fully saturated. These systems are the least expensive to build — usually around $10 to $20 / ft² — and require the least amount of maintenance. Extensive green roofs work on most roof applications whether on an expansive flat roof or a small sloped roof. Plant selection is generally limited to sedums and may or may not require an
irrigation system.
